What's old is new

This is my place to show off the items I would call vintage, things I have either refinished or kept as is and find interesting. I am still a kid at heart bringing home what some might call junk and am always in search of that buried treasure. I am not a picker and I am not a hoarder, working with my hands on my own time repairing or refinishing the things I find brings me peace of mind and time to myself to contemplate whatever has transpired in my life or time to just zone out and concentrate on the task at hand. Some items for sale or possible trade just ask..click on my profile and send me an email.

Bamboo & Chrome Bird Cages

I've been looking for an old metal cage like this for a while, it was in rough shape so I repainted the base and straightened and removed corrosion on the cage bars. Everything is there including seed/water dishes, glass panels, swing and perch. The bamboo cage is in equally good condition.

Refinshed floor lamp-Bartlett Collins Cookie Jars

The floor lamp I completly stripped down and refinished and I'm really happy with the end result. I replaced the old wiring with wiring from a broken IKEA floor lamp and got the shade from Value Village, I'm not crazy about the shade but it will do for now. A nice pair of Bartlet Collins cookie jars.

Waverley Novels

Found these books at the Goodwill, they represent only a small part of the Waverley Novels. I was told I may have a small fortune in my hands but haven't yet got around to having a professional look at them. I like the look of old leather bound books and the stories aren't bad.

Holt Howard juice pitcher set

Holt Howard juice pitcher and 5 small cups (c.1962).The juice pitcher and cups were part of a tray lot at auction, there was a cookie jar that my significant other wanted and this was extra that she didn't find appealing although orange is her favourite colour. I kept them for decorative use in the kitchen but will sell if interested.

Polaris Alarm Clock

I like the colour and shape of the Chinese clock (1950's), the feet kind of give it an art deco look. The blue chair well, enough said it's a blue chair with a solid maple frame and I dig it.

Lane Step Side Tables-My first find

I love the style of these solid walnut tables, the fantastic grain looks like tiger stripes. These were made by Knechtel Furniture for Lane and were in really rough shape when I found them, the one on the left had a burn which is barely noticeable now and if you didn't now you might think it was natural. In these pictures the table on the left is before refinishing hence the still visible burn and the one on the right has been refinished. These pictures don't do them justice, they turned out awesome after refinshing....For the right offer I may part with them.
